What A Find!!!!

I first discovered Julia Lee on a compilation of "dirty" r&b songs, "My Man Stands Out" really stood out! I bought a Julia Lee cd right away. These songs were recorded in the mid to late 40's but sound great and not too dated. The cover had her sitting at a piano (she plays and sings) which impressed to too. When I started listening though I was BLOWN AWAY by her voice. She has a natural phrasing and easy voice, which adds to the timeless quality of the songs. She could have been successful today! Why she isn't better known is a mystery to me. Maybe because she sang what amounts to "novelty" records. But that's too bad. If you're a fan of artists like Etta James and Ella Fitzgerald, Give Julia Lee a try! My favs are "My Man Stands Out", "King Size Papa", "Lotus Blossom", "Snatch and Grab It" and "I Didn't Like It The First Time"

Classic Sound!

She has such a unique voice and I'm so happy this album is on i-tunes! Great introduction to Julia Lee!
