Rhythm, Country and Blues

This one really blew my mind - the mix of talents and the choice of material is superb. You can hear the respect that artists have for each other in spite of their different backgrounds. If you do not tear up when B.B. King and George Jones sing "Patches" you have no soul

"Patches; I'm Depending On You; Son!"

.."To Pull The Family Through!".."Ain't It Funny How Time Slips Away!"..{Can't help but think of all the Terrific Talents on "Rhythm, Country & Blues" that are not with us today: Conway Twitty, Pops Staples; Chet Atkins & Bonnie Pointer!) To all of the "Various Artists" on R,C&B: You are all Top-Notch; And Kudos to whomever cooked up this batch of "Southern/Fried/Barbeque/Grits/Gumbo/Red Beans & Rice"; "Good On Ya'll" This recording is an Excellent Example of when Vibrant Vocals+Rockin' Rhythms="Blues With A Feeling"! The Material & the Musicians here transcend the boundaries of Black & White; North & South; Pop & Soul=To come up with a Singing Statement of the Freedom of Music!-"Somethin' Else!"-by Grimmbo.

A must for music lovers

The roots of rock n' roll are firmly rooted in country and R&B. Even before you listen, you can just imagine how Gladys Knight and Vince Gill sound together. Or Al Green and Lyle Lovett, B.B.King and George Jones, Conway Twitty and Sam Moore. Each duet wisks you away to a place deep inside the soul, each performer brought up on different sides of the track but parallel the experiences of life we all share. Truly, you can tell each singer enjoyed working on the project. Once you listen, you can feel the synergy of these two genres, that one's first impression would think they are so different. The album leaves you respecting country and rhythm and blues that much more.
