Incredible Pittsburgh Blues

Billy Price is a blue-eyed soul singer extraordinaire and these two LPs (together on one CD) showcase his talents quite well. From the shoulda been a hit pop-hustle of "Eldorado Cafe" to the blues bar skank of "She's Tough" to the catchy as all get-out soul confessional "You Left the Water Running" to the inspired Trammps cover of "Hold Back the Night" all the way through to the show-stopping "Jury of Love" this CD is never lets up. If you are a fan of 60's and 70's soul/R&B/blues (e.g. Syl Johnson, Al Green, Otis Clay) then you'll love Billy Price.

Why Billy isn't a huge star - I'll never know

I used to see Billy a lot back in the days when these records came out. And there was not a hotter band in town when Billy and the Keystone Rhythm Band came to play. This was a time when the nighthawks, roomful of Blues and the Thunderbirds were all at the top of their game and Billy was just the best. Billy was just the coolest guy I have ever seen and heard sing. He could and did cover everyone. But I defy you to not dance to Eldorado Cafe, She's tough ( which blows away the t-birds version) If you are a Billy Price fan and want a real treat look up Roy Buchanan's Live stock - that's Billy singing lead and look for Billy singing Neil Youngs "down by the river" from the same show on Roy's "Sweet dreams" anthology
