One of my Favorites

This is among my favorite Keaggy albums. This album has a great tonal quality to it. Phil's playing is flawless, yet it never sounds pretentious. It just flows beautifully. Don't really have a favorite song on the album, but I have always liked "When Night Falls" with the cricket backdrop. Highly recommended.

Heart, Soul, Mind, Strength

Phil Keaggy is a fantastic composer, singer and a genuinely humble man. Although he is a gifted (and fast!) guitarist he pieces generally favor melody and tone over pyrotechnics. I have been privileged to have seen him in concert on numerous occasions during his long career. If you are new to Phil, then I recommend you check out the albums Beyond Nature, especially "County Down" and "I Feel the Winds of God Today," and Sunday's Child, especially "Walk In Two Worlds" and "Talk About Suffering." If neither of these fabulous and creative albums appeal to you then Phil Keaggy is not for you. But perhaps you will also fall in love with his flawless and melodic style. If you do, please try to see this wonderful musician and godly man in concert; it is well worth it.

The one album I'd want with me on a deserted island

The high-water mark of Keaggy's acoustic work, in terms of composition, technique, arrangement, recording, and taste. "When night falls" is my favorite track as well--crank it up in a dark room!

Phil Keaggy is an excellent all-around guitarist who has been a part of the CCM scene for over two decades. Born and raised in Ohio in a Catholic family of ten, Keaggy always loved music and spent hours listening to such singers as Johnny Ray and Elvis Presley. He began imitating the latter as young as age four. Keaggy was also exposed to other kinds of music and became well versed in classical. His first guitar was a late-'50s Gretsch Anniversary model; at age ten his father bought him a Sears Silvertone,...
