Album Review

Wearing their Ramones influences even more prominently on their sleeves, the MFX "Starship" returned with another knockout album. "Dumb Little Band" is an honest reaction by a dumb little band that was left behind by their punk rock Gilman Street peers who hit the big time. Most of these songs, including "I Just Wanna Do It with You," "Ba Ba Ba Ba Ba," and "I Fell for You" (among others), are winners.

Pop Punk At Its Best

I've owned this album for a long time, and I still don't get sick of listening to it. This album is definitely MTX's finest work, including their big hit "Ba Ba Ba Ba Ba". That's not the only gem on here, though. You can't pass up "Dumb Little Band", "Deep Deep Down", "I'm Like Yeah", or "I Fell For You". Honestly, I'm shocked that there isn't a review for this album, yet, since I find it to be one of the most iconic punk pop album today. I'm sure you won't be disappointed :)

Next to "Revenge Is Sweet And So Are You," this album is secondary, but not by much. All the hallmarks of Dr. Frank's wickedly clever writing (both musical and lyrical) are on display here in their natural form, as delectable as a fine meal. One of the outstanding albums of its time, and indeed any time.

A must have

For anyonw who likes pop punk or punk in general one of MTX's best and a good starting point for new fans a real gem.

Genre: Punk

Years Active: '80s, '90s, '00s

The Mr. T Experience came out of the same Berkeley/East Bay Gilman Street punk rock scene that eventually spawned Green Day, but they are often left out of the history of this scene, or at least they rarely fit prominently into the punk rock genealogy. The Mr. T Experience (or MTX for short) played the same Ramones/Buzzcocks/Descendents-inspired punk-pop for years without gaining any of the commercial success of Gilman Street peers Green Day and Rancid. Perhaps this is a result of the perception...
