iTunes Review

Concise in length (19 tracks in under an hour), Elvis at Sun is sprawling in its musicality. Collecting tracks cut during Presley's year or so as an artist on the groundbreaking Memphis label, it implies nearly everything that was to come — more great rockers, especially, alongwith heartfelt country music and the occasional smoldering blues. Even the somewhat silly novelties he cut there (the Disney "I Don't Care If the Sun Don't Shine") are amazingly fresh a half century down the line. And the reallygreat stuff — his reinventions of blues and bluegrass on "That's All Right," "Blue Moon of Kentucky," "Milkcow Blues Boogie," "Baby Let's Play House," and "Mystery Train" — are towering, and also just damn fun. If you've always wondered what the fuss is about with Presley, start here. You'll get it.

Scrupples hit it right on the head

See above; you don't get ANYWHERE in rock without this album.

Classic stuff

It was Robert Johnson who sold his soul and created Rock in 1936. He opened the door...Elvis came 20 years later and blew the door off it`s hinges! Anything done during his Sun years is a must have!

Elvis At Sun

One of rocks greatest albums. Without Elvis there would'nt have been The Beatles!

But no one could argue with the fact that he was the musician most responsible for popularizing rock & roll on an international level. Viewed in cold sales figures, his impact was phenomenal. Dozens upon dozens of international smashes from the mid-'50s to the mid-'70s, as well as the steady sales of his catalog and reissues since his death...
