Album Review

Lone Justice started as a Los Angeles cowpunk band in 1984 that, in a short period of time, became much more before self-destructing two years later. Unfortunately for both band and public the whole thing caved in before instant MTV-type success found them. Their records, featuring powerful vocalist Maria McKee, still sound fresh today unlike others from that genre. The Lone Justice volume of the Millennium Collection series focuses on the best of their two studio albums, Lone Justice and Shelter, and contains a terrific selection of their very best, including "Ways to Be Wicked," "Don't Toss Us Away," "Wheels," and "Sweet, Sweet Baby (I'm Falling)." Also check out the McKee sampler as part of the 20th Century Masters series.

All Of The Best Highlights...

You will wonder what kept this band from scoring major success. When I saw her "dance" during Lone Justice's performance opening for U2, I thought that she was actually hurting the performance. What is "Cow-Punk" dancing like anyway...

awsome voice

true original. so much heart in maria's voice, music, and lyrics.

Another great band you forgot about...

Their music sounds as fresh now as it did back in the 80’s. Catching a SNL rerun and seeing them perform jolted me into remembering how good they were/are. Maria’s voice is pure and wonderful. A great addition to anyones playlist.
