Album Review

Those looking for traditional Celtic music are advised to look elsewhere. The worship music served by Eden's Bridge is more accurately classified as adult contemporary pop with Celtic accents. These accents are provided primarily with uilleann pipes and tin whistles that add to the quiet ambient sweep of the arrangements. But the record is completely devoid of any semblance of a fiddle, usually a foundational element of the Celtic sound. It is not surprising that the band includes covers of Rich Mullins' 1988 worship classic "Awesome God" and two tracks by another adult contemporary Christian contemporary music icon from the '80s, Twila Paris ("Lamb of God," "He Is Exalted"). Eden's Bridge has obviously learned much from the CCM pop of that era. Their synthesizers and light electric guitars would sound more at home in the context of a Word Music sampler from 1985 than in a 1997 collection of Celtic music.

Customer Reviews

One of their best

One of the best Eden's Bridge particular I love tracks 1, 11 and 13. Don't listen to the review up top...this is good stuff. Check out their "Isle of Tides" album. I don't think that is available on iTunes for some reason. That is their best album. Amazing meditation music.

Another great album!

This is great soothing and meditative background worship music! Perfect for calmly touching the soul. Disregard the Album Review; it is ignorant of worship qualities. This is a great album, consistent with all from Eden's Bridge's new age style.

The early albums by Eden's Bridge -- Celtic Psalms and Celtic Worship -- were the first Celtic albums listed on the Top 100 Christian Albums charts compiled by Billboard. In 1998, Eden's Bridge released three albums: Celtic Praise, Celtic Worship, Volume...
