Sandra is an artist! So smart, so cutting, such a stylist of humour and observation. I love you, Sandra! Her first album in 10 years? This is an event. (And if you look back at what she was doing 20 years ago with something like "Im the One That I Want"...dang. Genius.)

I love being me, don't you?

Don't knock it just because you don't get it. Sandra is genius, hysterical and layered. And she cuts her material fresh at every show.

A must for fans

Regarding Sandra, you either get her or you don't. Her work has always been multi-layered and not about "punchlines" or straight-up comedy; no one else really does what she does, a mashup of storytelling, song, emulation, satire and endless references. I first became a fan in the late 80s, when I bought "Without You I'm Nothing" on cassette. This new album may not be Sandra at her "Without You..." peak, but she's still brilliant and it's a welcome addition to my Sandra collection.

Bernhard didn't stay there long; after graduation, she made her way to Los Angeles and to the comedy club circuit. As she developed her talent,...
