iTunes Review

Coming out of New York City, SWV (a.k.a. Coko, Taj, and LeLee) were discovered by Teddy Riley, and the trio hit the scene in 1992 with the triple-platinum debut album It's About Time. SWV had some huge singles (including "Weak," "I'm So into You," and the MJ-sampling "Right Here/Human Nature"), leading to three more albums and several more chart-topping hits. I Missed Us is their first album since 1997's somewhat forgettable A Special Christmas, and it shows that the ladies haven't lost a step since their glory days. From the jump-off single "Co-Sign" to the throwback party jam "Do Ya" (featuring Brianna Perry) and the contemplative title track, this is definitely a welcome and triumphant return for Sisters with Voices. If you were a fan back in the day, you'll dig it for sure. Yet even if you were too young the first time around, this is as good or better than most of today's modern R&B. Also check out "Time to Go," "Everything I Love," and "Love Unconditionally."

I missed you too

PERFECTION, ladies. Thank you for reminding us what music and talent truly are. The vocals, instrumentation, rhythm, bass, soul, teamwork, message, and beats. This almbum has it all! I Missed Us; Love Unconditionally; Show Off (feat. AVX); Use Me; Everything I Love; Keep You Home; Do Ya; and If You Only Knew... Just... wow.
Thank you for coming back. I think I speak for us all when I say...
I missed you too!

Nobody makes a “Come Back” of this HIGH quality!

This is the best CD this year, actually within the last couple of years.

For Example:

• The Time (The Original 7even) – Very Disappointing
• Johnny Gill – Good but ran out after “In the Mood”.
• Keith Sweat – Also very good but never got going after “Make You Say Ooh”.

Only recently have Jill Scott, Ledisi, Rakim, Sade, and Maxwell have come close but not completely matching this CD because all of these songs are JAMS, just put it in and push play.

Another strong point of this CD, SWV did not try to sound like Destiny's Child, Beyonce, or Rihanna.
They sound like SWV with new fresh JAMS, the above three acts need to take notes. Actually it does not sound like a “Come Back” CD, just a new CD by SWV.

Like they never went anywhere…

What is most impressive, they all took turns singing lead, who would have ever known Tamara and Leanne (Lelee) could blow like this?

Congratulations & God Blessings Ladies.

Formed: 1990 in New York, NY

Genre: R&B/Soul

Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s

With their 1992 debut, It's About Time, SWV scored a string of Top Ten R&B hits that established them as one of the most popular R&B groups of the '90s. SWV (their name is an acronym for Sisters with Voices) is comprised of three school friends: Coko (born Cheryl Gamble), Taj (born Tamara Johnson), and Lelee (born Leanne Lyons). All three vocalists sang in church as children, which is where they learned how to harmonize. A demo tape the group assembled caught the attention of producer Teddy Riley,...
