Album Review

Lewis proves her mettle once again with this well-produced offering. There are plenty of ear-catching tunes, but the one that stuck in this listener's head long afterwards is "What a Fool I've Been", the ninth track of twelve, and which includes some rapping by T-Bone and J-Raw of Priesthood. This song showcases her vocal range nicely without losing the pop sound. "Trust Me" is also excellent. ~ Dacia A. Blodgett-Williams, Rovi

Maybe not fearless, but definitely a brave offering

I was a big Crystal Lewis fan in the mid to late 90's, and in my opinion, her three best albums were in quick succession: Beauty for Ashes, Gold, and this album. She shines on the songs she takes the biggest gambles on- "Reach Out" and "What a Fool I've Been" are two awesome songs with great arrangements that still showcase Crystal's wonderful voice. "Satisfied" also has a similar vibe paired with a very soul-like melody, and the mellow "Only Fools" also deserves a mention. The rest of these songs are definitely standard Crystal fare- everyday pop with a couple of power ballads thrown in...maybe just a little "safe", although there's nothing wrong with that. Crystal Lewis has a beautiful voice, and she sounds good, if not great on every track.

Fearless and peerless

Absolutely the best offering since Beauty for Ashes. It shows the maturity of Crystal and the constant evolution of her music. The title track alone is inspiring and the remake of Track 4 from a previous cd is totally refreshing. What makes this cd so likeable is the perfect mix of jazz influences and tecno pop. Not many artists, especially christian artists, can pull that off. Crystal and her husband/producer Brian Ray have a definite classic here-Kudos!

Great Album!

I grew up with Crystal Lewis playing in my cassette player. Her voice is so amazing on this album- I would recommend buying the entire cd- all the songs are equally good.
