Editors’ Notes

Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie manage to deliver humorous songs that don’t lose their appeal once the joke has been told. As wondrous stylistic chameleons, they easily jump from one style to the next, mastering the essentials and playing with the clichés. They like funky beats that sound immediately at odds with their own awkward, New Zealander outcast pose. “Hurt Feelings” typifies a new “Low Self Esteem”-styled rap, where the duo’s over-sensitivity proves they’re not suited to a thug’s life. (“The day after my birthday is not my birthday, mum.” Ouch.) The R. Kelly-styled “We’re Both In Love With a Sexy Lady” tries to firmly determine if they are indeed in love with the same woman. (They are). “Sugalumps” and “Too Many Dicks (On the Dancefloor)” jam with a solid groove underneath their silly heart. The David Bowie rip, “Fashion Is Danger,” holds up as a genuine original all its own. “You Don’t Have To Be a Prostitute” updates the Police’s “Roxanne” with great self-awareness. Goofy fun and catchy tunes all around.

So Where Is The Complete My Album Feature?

Wow! Please tell me I'm wrong, and iTunes did not just hustle us by tricking us into buying all the singles,AND then making us buy the CD (and those previously purchased songs) again?! Ugh! Using my love for FOTC againgst me.

Complete my album??

Is the complete album function available for anyone?? I bought 4 FOTC singles when they became available and don't really want to buy them again if I don't have to. Anyone else having the same problem?

no discount for those of us that bought the weekly singles

remember that time when they said if you downloaded the song of the week during season 2, you'd be able to get the remainder of the album discounted when it was released?

...good times.

apparently itunes forgot.

still love those conchords, i think they're the funniest guys ever. just a bit disappointed for the false advertising. i mean, who could have held back when sugalumps was released after it played on the episode this winter? right. not this girl.

Overcome by a dream in which a V formation of Gibson Flying Vs resembled a gaggle of Concorde airplanes, the two christened...
