iTunes Review

One need not subscribe to subcultural accessories to let this album work its magic — though the energy of a youthful mind and the passion of an adolescent heart are more likely to get singer Tyson Ritter's dire lyrics of vernal longings and lovelorn sagas. In production, the album doesn't stray far from 2005's Move Along. Maroon 5 producer Eric Valentine gives these songs a polished sound, glossing each track for radio saturation and video game placement. But there are also some fresh new goodies that have been brought to the party — like a lush string ensemble and an all-female choir. Also, folk band the Pierces drop in for a guest appearance on "Another Heart Calls," making for a dramatic song with an endearing call-and-response duet. "Gives You Hell" is a powerful standout that pumps funk-based beats, barbed melodies and what sounds like a locker room of football players chanting the chorus. The album's opener "I Wanna" is impossible to walk away from without humming the hook.

When the World Comes Down

I'm not sure if people actually read these reviews other than me, but I really like AAR. They have a special place near my heart and they always will, for getting me through some rough patches, and this album speaks for people without the courage or the voice, and so do the other albums. Also, I'M THE FIRST REVIEW! whoo-hoo! please say you liked my review. :-D

The Rejects Have Done it Again!

I've been an AAR fan since the beginning, when they released their first album back in 2003, and I just LOVE them. They're my favorite band in the whole world, and, for me, have always stood out from all the other bands out there. There music just has more voice and meaning than other bands. The sing what they mean and they mean what they sing. I first heard about the upcoming album back in June, and I've been counting down the days ever since! I stayed up until midnight to buy it! While not as energetic as "The All-American Rejects" or "Move Along", this album is amazing and shows how much the Rejects have matured. The new album has a more smooth, easy mood then their previous albums. My favorite tracks are "I Wanna", "Breakin'", "Fallin' Apart", "Mona Lisa", and who could forget "Gives You Hell". An amazing album, definitely worth 8 bucks!

Formed: 2000 in Stillwater, OK

Years Active: '00s, '10s

Vocalist/bassist Tyson Ritter and guitarist Nick Wheeler both hail from Stillwater, OK, where the pair first embraced music as an appealing diversion from the ho-hum life of small-town America. Citing such influences as AC/DC, Def Leppard, and Bon Jovi, they formed the emo-pop group All-American Rejects in 2000, while both members were still in high school. Maintaining a full lineup proved to be difficult, however, so Ritter and Wheeler employed drum loops and pre-programmed rhythm tracks during...
