Another great release from Flagship!

Amy Tupper

On this EP from Flagship, "I Want You" is the standout track. It's the kind of song you can put on repeat for a couple hours, falling into the layers of Drake's voice.

The strength of this EP rests on the same foundation as Flagship's other albums: the genuine delivery of emotion that cascades and crescendoes against strong harmonies and snappy complex beats.

This is a must-have EP for Flagship fans.

Haunting, emotional, epic sound

This band is one of those ones that define a moment in time for you. Although they have been around for a few years, they were new to me this year, and music will never be the same. They are right up there with Interpol and The National. Amazing. This EP is great. I Want You is pure perfection, and every other track is right there as well. Enjoy!

Favorite Band?

I think you guys might be my favorite band. You have a unique sound and I adore the lyrics to the songs. You're so underrated for all the talent that's in this group.

About Flagship

Songwriters Drake Margolnick and Michael Finster were both hard at work on their own solo careers when they decided to join forces and form Flagship in 2011. Both regulars in the Charlotte, North Carolina music scene, Finster left his group Campbell and took on the role of drummer while Margolnick reconfigured his solo act into material for the newly formed duo. Taking cues from the intensity of early U2 as well as elements of Americana and radio-friendly rock acts, Flagship quickly developed a churning and dreamy sound and was signed to California indie imprint Bright Antenna Records. Debut EP Blackbush was issued in 2012 and was followed the next year by a self-titled full-length. The band toured and recorded frequently, issuing a second EP in 2015's Faded and second album The Electric Man in early 2017. ~ Fred Thomas
