Completely Embodies the Word "Bittersweet"
Truly, I feel bad about posting this review. I was very excited to here that this record had been released, but then I reached Potthast's covers... While Kalnoky does a brilliant job with his five songs, Potthast fails to do Kalnoky's songs justice. To me, Potthast's entries in this record are bad acoustic covers of hymns. His voice in no way conveys the feeling that was originally put into these songs. Kalnoky's perfomance did merit five stars from me, but Potthast brought it down to three. Don't get me wrong; anyone who's toured with Kalnoky earns my respect, but Potthast is just not cut out for the level on which any of Kalnoky's works stand.
A Moment of Silence, Please.
This is just great, all around listening, there's no way around it. Their voices work so well on each others songs, that you can't really go wrong.
Toh Kay and Dan P. Fans Unite!
This album is nothing short of spectacular. Toh Kay and Dan P have been two artists that have traveled together on tour for years. It was only a matter of time that they would work together. Some of the more stronger renditions (imo) are I've Set Sail, I Went In, A Moment of Silence, and the Big Sleep. All in all, it's a nice side project that is a joy for any Toh Kay, Streetlight, BOTAR, or Dan P. If you're a someone that wants to get an acoustic or folk lover into Streetlight then this the album you need to show them! Pure acoustic greatness. I didn't expect less from the two musicians. Can this be one of the projects that is part of the 99 songs of Revolution? Only time will till! (I certainly hope so though)
