El Dusty is a perpetually unpredictable producer. The guest-heavy Cumbia City splices a classic Latin groove with all manner of cutting-edge EDM tricks. "En La Mar" explodes its infectious shuffle with impossibly heavy dubstep-style drops, "Sacúdete El Polvo" attacks a vintage horn section with battering techno kicks, and "Kanto Negro" is a riotous mash-up of jaunty cumbia accordion, thrashing trap snares, and electro-shocked synths. While perhaps too wild for purists, these floor-filling experiments will ensnare anyone looking for cumbia's next evolutionary step.
