Album Review

Frozen Alive! demonstrates the exuberant power of Albert Collins in concert and contains enough first-rate solos to make it a worthwhile listen for fans of his icy style. [A live Japanese edition released in 2006 contains bonus tracks.]

The Iceman Cometh!

Albert was a true blues giant, but you don't hear about him as much as you hear of Muddy, John Lee, or Robert Johnson. This guy had one of the best electric blues guitar tones, period. Stevie Ray and Billy Gibbons learned a lot from this guy. My dad has this record on vinyl somewhere- it's been misplaced after moving a few times over th years. But it is one of the best live documents from a blues master there is. Highly recommended!
