One of the best

The single "Got To Be Real" is one of the best disco songs. Great song, great voice. Wonderful talent. Demonstrates that the disco era had quality music.

one of the best - ever

I started following Ms. Lynn's career when she appeared on the Gong Show, winning a perfect '30' from the judges. I knew then she had something special, and she proved it. Unfortunately she never achieved 'superstar' status, but IMHO other than Karen Carpenter, perhaps, she is the best all around vocal talent out there.

Voice Like No Other

Cheryl Lynn! Wow! What an awesome talent, and beautiful too. Songs like "Got to be real, Encore, If this world were mine, and the work that she did on "Georgy Porgy" are by far the best projects that she has ever done. She was born into the wrong era. Bottom line is she was an incredibly talented vocalist, but not anyone with great vision for her continued success into the 80's and 90's.

She signed with Columbia in 1978, and her debut LP Cheryl Lynn featured the anthem "Got To Be Real," which topped the R&B charts and reached number 12 pop. The follow-up, "Star Love," was a Top 20 R&B hit, and Lynn kept things going with "Shake It Up Tonight" in 1981, another Top...
