Deja Vu Madness!!

Deja Vu soundtrack is quite similar to Spy Game. Especially the Humvee Chase Remix!! Get that song!!! This time around the overal mood of the soundtrack is turned down a bit which is fine by me because the ambience is supreme as to any action in this case. Harry can pretty much make any film score sound good and with many variations and not with too much repetition. The strings etc along with electronic music really make this his own area of expertise along with others from the old Media Ventures day. This Many of the tracks in the beginning especially sound Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. I highly recommend getting MGS3 because its over 138 minutes long filled with some of the best action/game music ever. Its not in Itunes though sadly. Overall a very good soundtrack pick it up and its a good Gregson-Williams score once again.

Worth Buying, But Not Gregson-Williams' Best

I am very fond of Harry Gregson-Williams, as well as the rest of the Media Ventures team (such as Hans Zimmer, John Powell, etc.) Deja Vu is an iTunes Exclusive, and cannot be found anywhere else, which immediately makes it a must buy. Those with For Your Consideration Promos for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences are trying to sell this exact version for a mininum of $40. I find it easier to pay $10 on iTunes. A simple score, nothing too complex or heavy like previous Gregson-Williams' work. Deja Vu is a great score, it works well with the film, as well as on its own. We have a softer side of Harry, with light piano keys and vocals in "Algiers Ferry", but then we have the Harry we all know and love, with the "Humvee Chase" and "Better Have Some KY". The Macy Gray song is a nice extra. Gregson-Williams wrote the song with Gray, and the two previously worked together on Domino, also directed by Tony Scott. Nothing special to cosider for Oscar time, but overall a great score to have and enjoy.

Makes a good movie Great

You can clearly hear Gregson-Williams' style in the album. Very similar to Enemy of the State and Spy Game. Also, some parts are reminiscent of Metal Gear Solid. The score fit the movie perfectly and added just the right amount of emotion at many key pivotal points of the film. It is good ambience music to have playing in the background while you work. With out a doubt a good buy.
