Great Rookie Album!

First of all, to all of you who are just buying TORN, I can not stress enough how that is not even close to her best song, while it is a very good song just about every song on the second album is better and the third is even better. Now, I remember listening to this album all the time, and every song is good, and at the time I couldn't think how it could get any better. That is until the second album came out. That is the reason for the 4 stars. I strongly recommend buy this entire album (and not just Torn) I suggest you get the second one as well. You will love it. She has more talent in her little finger than any of these "American Idol" so called artists have. Note: don't mind the bad sentence structure, it's been a long day!

Carrots!!!!

As much as I love this song, I don't think it's right for her voice. Maybe it would sound better with a young, deep, rusty type voice singing it, or maybe 5 of them! And maybe they can be from the UK! And be from X-Factor! And one can be Irish! And another can have really curly hair! And another can call himself the 'Bradford bad boy'! And one who likes girls who eat carrots! And one can be the sensible one! But I'm getting ahead of myself, that's not going to happen...

Missing out

Torn is a great song but in comparision to the other songs on the album is quite pop and repetitive. Her other songs are very poetic and a bit darker with more edge, in a very good way. Natalie's voice remains beautiful and melodic, with an almost ghost-like quality in some of the songs (Smoke) but still as enjoyable if not more than in 'Torn'. I highly suggest you buy the whole album, I have owned it since 8th grade (11 years) and still enjoy it to this day. Enjoy!

By mixing Lisa Loeb/Alanis Morissette-like singing with music that sounds similar to a more mainstream Portishead at times, Natalie Imbruglia became one of the biggest pop sensations in Europe. Born in Sydney, Australia, on February 4, 1975, Imbruglia was one of four sisters and grew up in a tiny beach town. After becoming a teen actress and landing a spot on the Australian soap opera Neighbours, Imbruglia decided that she would rather be a singer, and moved to London in 1996 to try her luck. It...
