It's about time!!

It's been 4 long years since the last Hip Hop Hoodios album "Agua Pa' La Gente." While this new record is something of a best-of, it features a whole bunch of new songs as well, my favorites being "Times Square (1989)" and "Que Pasa in Israel." Hip Hop Hoodíos is a Latino-Jewish urban collective and I suppose the comparisons of being a more Latino answer to the Beastie Boys or a more Jewish Molotov are appropriate.....but this time, the boys also delve into crunk and reggaeton - albeit, in their usual irreverent way. "Hoodia Para Mi" is a genius response to the typical gutter crunk/reggaeton I hear on the radio - only this time, the song praises a mythical Jewish booty mama who got 1600 on her SAT's. For newcomers to the band, you also have the group's classic tracks like "Havana Nagila" and "Ocho Kandelikas." For Latin-alternative fans, you've got a nice mix of styles and genres going on. Well worth picking up.

Back to tha future!

Lovin the beats on the new songs!! Times Square isn't like anything else your hearin these days. Kinda like the early stuff but sounds better!!
