Album Review

Despite some great songs, notably Dave Alvin's "Every Night About This Time" and Robert Earl Keen's modern-day western "Whenever Kindness Fails," Love and Danger rocks hard but never finds its groove.

Love and Danger

This is one of those records that I keep coming back to and I am always glad I did. It has great story's and plenty to think about in the songs.

Underappreciated Artist Joe Ely

This is a great artist/musician/producer/engineer/songwriter/person. I love every song on this album. Outside of Texas he is the most unappreaciated musician of our time. Every one of his albums are great all the way back to The Flatlanders. He is also kind and personable to fans. Too bad he had to go to Europe to be appreciated. He has opened for the Rolling Stones, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, The Clash, and scores more. Musicians know. Audiences know. You should know. This is one talented musician. Buy any of Joe Ely records. Be amazed. Hear me now. Listen to me later.
