Great Soundtrack for a Great Movie!

The music Rachel Portman created for this film is simply perfect. She has crafted a score that not only emphasizes the beauty of the story told in the film, but that also perfectly characterizes the characters whose lives we encounter in the film. If Johnny Depp brought the hilariously romantic figure of Benny to life on the big screen, Portman made the same magic happen with the music! The score captures the essence of not ony Benny and Joon, but also those of the figures who helped create all the wonderful fun Benny is, Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin. This music makes you think of love, warmth, and circus fun all in one breath! And of course the added touch of The Proclaimers' "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" is just a little bit more icing on an already decadent cake!
