iTunes Review

At the tender age of 21, Leeland Mooring has established himself as one of Christian rock’s most conspicuous talents. As leader of Leeland, he confirms his stature once again with Love Is On the Move, an album combining unassailable craftsmanship with a genuine sense of mission. The band’s British prog-rock influences remain evident and Mooring’s crystalline voice — especially in its upper range — shows new control and refinement in these tracks. Songs like “The Door” and “Weak Man” are carried along by an escalating rhythmic pulse, while “Pure Bride” conveys its exalted vision with an ethereal arrangement. Mooring isn’t afraid to sing with a soft, even whispery edge — “Lift Your Eyes Up” and “Follow You” (featuring Brandon Heath on vocals) are luminous, almost genteel expressions of passionate faith. Love Is On the Move reaches its pinnacle on its title track, matching a plea for Christian compassion with a sweeping arrangement. Love Is On the Move is a spiritually and artistically mature statement by a band still burning with the urgency of youth.

Customer Reviews

Leelands most beautiful music to date.

After reading some of the reviews online for this album, I was angered. Statements such as “none of the songs stand out” and other negative views were here and there. It was all musical gripes, with no mentioning the lyrics. These lyrics are full of power. They are NOT run-of-the-mill CCM. “Pure Bride” “Via Dolarosa” and the title track are some of my personal favorites. These songs are more than just corporate praise. They are a call to action, to get love moving. Musically the CD has fewer groovy beats than Opposite Way. It has more of a sound of awesome beauty that was conveyed somewhat on Sound of Melodies. There is a lot more strings on this one then the last two albums. The opener “The Door” is, admittedly, a bit cliché, but it is also impassionated with love of Jesus. This album has some quieter moments, but still plenty of energy. Quite honestly, I was crying as I listened to some of these songs. How could you or anyone else listen to this and just say “blah…”? No matter what they say, this will be playing on repeat on my ipod for a good long while.

Love Is On The Move and So is Leeland

I met these guys at Atlantafest this year as I was working for Fireflight for the summer. I flew my friend in for the weekend and we stood on stage as Leeland walked up to perform. We asked Leeland himself so we hear your recording and the new record is due soon. We told him we were excited for a new masterpiece and he said wait no longer because we are playing 5 new ones tonight. The first 10 seconds of the first song which happened to be "The Door" blew me away. This album has exceeded the limits that I thought would come of this record. I knew it would be awesome, but this record is incredible beyond words. They back it up 100% with their live performance. Love Is On The Move and So Is Leeland!

i bought this album yesterday and listened to it all night, it is awsome!! amazingly his voice even got better! its more pure and smooth and Wow! the highlights are,.. Via Dolorosa: beautiful lyrics put into a great melody, Pure Bride: so misty and spooky while really beautiful with a good message, Lift Your Eyes Up: was soo suprized to hear this song its a 9/8 time signiture and beautiful chord progression (and i like lifting my eyes up ^-^), Love Is On the Move: this is the insperation for the album cover, all the colors and spaciousness totaly describes the beauty in the music, and to top it off its singing about the love of God! =) =) =) and over all, this is very VERY good stuff for insperational! most insperational doesn't go to far and just sorta stay shallow(i dont like using that word) this on the other hand doesn't limit itself in praise to God! it gets as deep as it pleases! who doesn't wanna get deep with God's love? it's really hard to write a review on this without talking about God, cuz it's intire focus is on God's love so, sorry =P and the length is very very decent, its not like they slowed down the songs and made them boring, or that they added a minute intro and outro to the songs, so you really do get to enjoy the whole album instead of waiting for it.
