The Abbey Road Medley

Most people like the first couple of songs of here, Come Together, Somrthing, Here Comes the Sun. Those are all great songs, but I think the Abbey Road Medley(all songs from "You never Give Me Your Money" to "The End") are the best set of song on here. All Beatles songs are really good: Its just that the Abbey Road Medley is the best, from the slow soft Sun King to the fast hihat sixtienth notes on "She Came In Through the Bathroom Window". However I think Golden Slumbers and Carry That Weight are the best songs on this ablbum. I think this is the best Beatles album ever: you should defintely buy it if you love the beatles or rock music. If not- listen to it- its really good!!

the best album.

ever.

Going out on top

The Beatles knew this was their last album and put aside their bickering to create a masterpiece. The fact they broke up at their peak just might explain why the group remains a phenomenon nearly a half century later. Beyond the iconic cover, the album contains the perfect blend of hard-edged Lennon and melodic McCartney, but it's Harrison that produces the best song, "Something". The album's highlight is "side two", a collection of unfinished Lennon and McCartney songs strung together to create a sum that is decidedly greater than the parts. The guitar solo is my favorite of all time simply because it dares to keep it simple and give the notes some breathing room. Abbey Road could have concluded appropriately with "The End", but the Beatles give us a head fake and finish with McCartney's ditty, "Her Majesty". Some prefer the iconic Sgt Pepper or the variety of the White Album but for me Abbey Road is the Beatles at their very best.

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '60s

So much has been said and written about the Beatles — and their story is so mythic in its sweep — that it's difficult to summarize their career without restating clichés that have already been digested by tens of millions of rock fans. To start with the obvious, they were the greatest and most influential act of the rock era, and introduced more innovations into popular music than any other rock band of the 20th century. Moreover, they were among the few artists of any discipline that...
