Irreplaceable Love is the last album Commissioned made with Marvin Sapp, who has become a gospel heavyweight in his own right. More significantly, it marks a near-perfect intersection of sanctified lyrics with silky R&B harmonies; contemporary gospel doesn’t get much smoother than this. It also doesn’t get much more empowering: “No Weapon” is a song of strength in Christ, “Irreplaceable Love” shows how God meets our needs, and “Crucified With Christ” exhorts us to “count it all joy” until we “make it through the storm.”
