iTunes Review

Fourteen-year-old singer/pianist Grey Chance makes good on his breakthrough as a YouTube sensation by releasing a debut album of impressive substance. His vibrato-tinged vocals are particularly effective in their lower range; as an overall performer, he transcends tween-pop limitations without pretending to be a worldly-wise grownup. His self-composed “Waiting Outside the Lines” sets the album’s tone with its message of personal freedom. Tracks like “Unfriend You” and “Home Is In Your Eyes” deal with young love in fresh, believable terms. Especially fun is “Little London Girl,” a buoyant number with a shout-along chorus. Chance stretches out to deliver moodier tunes like the Europop-slanted “Summertrain” and the dramatic “Cheyenne” with confidence. The album’s production (by the Matrix, among other notables) is tasteful and polished. Chance’s youth may have helped gain him attention, but Hold On ‘Til the Night suggests he deserves to be heard on his strength of his talent alone.

Yes, I'm a 14 year old girl, but I'm not a brainless, annoying fangirl and I'm not obsessed with Justin Bieber and Cody Simpson or the "next big thing". This kid has changed my life. He is mature and knows what real music is, not all the crap on the radio today. His voice is amazing. He's so talented it's not even funny, and this album proves it. It has so many powerful songs that'll help people get through their issues, unlike a lot of "songs" today. It makes me sad and happy and angry, this album. No other CD can do that. I can also relate to a lot of the songs; a lot of people can too. Hold On Til The Night isn't just for teenage girls, it's for anyone really. And that's what I love about Greyson. I hate when people immediately judge and say he's "gay" or "5 years old" or "the next Justin Bieber." Greyson's the complete opposite.

Anyway, I just wanted to thank Greyson for making this beautiful piece of art. It's truly amazing.

If you don't like it; go get your ears checked.

Don't Hold On To Buy It!

I have a feeling some little tween's are going to give this a poor review because of their overly-obsessive love for Justin Bieber,
but this is what I have to say to everyone else, this kid has undeniable talent!
And making this his first album debut, a year ago from when he was discovered
on ELLEN (which I watched the same day) this album is very good!
Their is no denying his voice is unique for his generation but he also knows how to use it!
For example some standouts: Listen To Heart Like Stone & Cheyenne

Some of my favorites on Hold On 'Til The Night are:

Hold on 'Til The Night-Catchy, easy listening song.
Unfriend You-Makes you want to throw your hands up and just dance
Heart Like Stone-Shows Greyson's depth with his voice
Summertrain-Just a fun ride!

Personally, I have never met Greyson, nor will I think I ever will, but I am proud of the kid and how far he has gotten so quick!
Buy this album, you will not regret it!

Great job, Greyson!

Greyson has such a beautiful voice. He's so talented.
I'm completely in love with this album, it's an amazing record. Greyson and his team did a great job!
With love, from a brazilian fan. :)

In April 2010, 12-year-old Greyson Chance performed Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi” at a middle-school talent show, accompanying himself on the piano while his sixth grade classmates watched. A video of the performance was uploaded to YouTube later that month. One of its earliest viewers was Ellen DeGeneres, who invited Greyson to perform on her show in May and eventually signed him to eleveneleven, her newly launched record label. A major-label deal with Interscope followed. By June, the “Paparazzi” video...
