iTunes Review

On their first album of the '90s, U2 succeeds at a game few bands pull off—adding new elements to their sound without sacrificing the strength of their original musical vision. Producers Daniel Lanois and Brian Eno's electronic beats and impressionistic synths spin a new kind of sonic gold. The hypnotically groovy "Mysterious Ways" and the surging ballad "One" maintain the band's commercial credibility, while stranger, more experimental efforts, like "The Fly," offer a peek into their complex and intriguing dark side.

Its Remastered - Its U2 - Its ACHTUNG BABY

There are few albums in ones life that act as a signpost, when you make a shift from being one person to being another. Achtung Baby is my soundtrack for that moment. From the opening of Zoo Station, when i thought my stereo was broken, to ...Wild Horses (maybe my favorite ever) to the deranged Jesus-complex metallic groove of ...End of the World this album is brilliant from cover to cover......Dont hesitate, just get it, AGAIN!!!!

Best U2 Album

This album changed my life. That my sound a bit dramatic, but it's true. I never truly understood how people could fall in love with music with more ways then it having a "catchy beat" until I heard this album. This album, for me, isn't one of those albums where you pick out three and four and leave the rest; this whole album is incredible. From the "Wrrrr-dr-dr" of "Zoo Station" to the emotional guitar solo of "Love Is Blindness", this album is packed with feelings not as truly expressed in any other U2 album. U2 about to fall apart, The Edge's divorce, the fall of the Berlin Wall, all of these events had an effect on this album, and it affected it for the better. U2 put their soul into this album, and it shows (big thank you to Brian Eno). There's a reason songs like "One", "Until the End Of The World", 'Zoo Station", and "Mysterious Ways" are still played today. This album is timeless.

So Great

Am I first?

Cool - this was THE defining album of my musical adolescence. So cool and with so many great cuts. Heavy and energetic, it really is as good today as it was all those years ago.

Favorite songs are So Cruel, Until the End of the World and The Fly.

Give it another listen and see if you don't enjoy the ride again.

Through a combination of zealous righteousness and post-punk experimentalism, U2 became one of the most popular rock & roll bands in the world -- equally known for their sweeping sound as for their grandiose statements about politics and religion. The Edge provided the group with a signature sound by creating sweeping sonic landscapes with his heavily processed, echoed guitars. Though the Edge's style wasn't conventional, the rhythm section of Larry Mullen, Jr. and Adam Clayton played the songs...
