Editors’ Notes

Live jazz is all about the magical moments that couldn’t have been replicated at any other time or place. Such was the case with this stunning 1969 meeting of Les McCann’s funky trio with guests Eddie Harris on saxophone and Benny Bailey on trumpet. The album opens with the massive one-two punch of the soul-jazz classic (and pop hit) “Compared to What” and Harris’ now-iconic rave-up “Cold Duck Time,” but the freewheeling set sustains that momentum 'til the very last note.

Swiss movement

This is easily one of the best jazz albums of all time. It never gets tired. If you don't have it get it and if you have it listen to it again. This is a group of pros all at the top of their games. Awesome.

Swiss Movement

The standout Compared to What will get your feet tapping and hands clapping, this is one live recording that makes you feel as if your setting front row center. If you need a positive charge, try this one for sure.
