Album Review

For the first time, Kihn has written all the songs and, with the first track, has adopted a harder edge to his sound, at least on that particular track. Overall, not a bad record but more of a lateral move as an artist than a step forward.

One Of His Best

Greg used to start his shows at this time by saying "Alright, let's rock this place", and that's exactly what this LP does. It has a much heavier rock feel to it then the preceding two LPs. Saw them just after this came out the night before they closed down Winterland, and they opened for Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers-one of my all-time favorite concerts. The band was really beginning to jell. I must have played the first three songs on this LP hundreds of times-"Cold Hard Cash" & "Museum" will have you rocking and bopping around the room and then space out to "Remember", maybe my favorite Kihn song (it's sort of like his "Stairway To Heaven"). Also turn it up on "Remember" and have Steve Wright's bass blow out your windows. And listen to his great bass on "Secret Meetings", and understand why Greg used to introduce him as "The Bionic Bass Player". Nobody played bass live better then Steve, and Larry Lynch had a sort of loping drumming style which was great and fun to watch him play. This LP has the band really starting to figure things out. Get it!

Best of Kihn

"Remember" was always my favorite Kihn song, but the rest is outstanding as well. Great musicianship and well crafted songs.

Strong Album

This was one of my favorite GKB albums, but I don't get why it's now a partial album and is missing Secret Meetings (which was one of my favorite live songs). I purchased it complete off of iTunes not long ago.
