Stuart's "Background Music" makes this interesting

Okay, so "Paxton Quigley's Had the Course" is the real gem here and is available on C&J's masterpiece The Ark, and "Tobey's Song" is pretty good but also available as a bonus track on The Ark (going by the name of "Song of the Love Child," and the rest of the songs on this soundtrack are not quite up to C&J's usual standards. That said, what makes this album worth the purchase is Chad Stuart's "Background Music." Chad & Jeremy remain one of the most under-rated and under-recognized great music groups. They were part of the British invasion in the early 1960s, but unlike just about every other British group of the time, they began with a social/political edge. Oh, we know them best for their soft summer love songs, but Of Cabbages and Kings and the Ark (their masterpieces of social commentary) did NOT materialize out of thin air. And it makes perfect sense that they would be compose the soundtrack to a movie about a guy held hostage in an attic by the 3 women he had cheated on.
