Defying a single style, a melting pot of amazing music palettes!

A new vibe, mixed-up in a fantastic way! It's an uber thrill for me to hear new McCreary, having listened to most all of his other scores. Elements of dub step are all over, which has got an aggressive feel to it, perfect for a video game score in today's time when a you want to infuse a new-ish electronic sound into the already amazing sonic streams from the mind of this master.

Strings with wonderful melodies abound, as do the crazy distorted violin solos harkening back to BSG score tracks, and - yes - percussion 'n' drums that will scare your kids and rattle your teeth

There's an uncanny resemblance in the track "Marin Exploration" to Henry Jackman's score for X-Men: First Class ("Frankenstein's Monster") with the jangly acoustic guitar, western-esque feel, and haunting sound.

I've already lilstened to this album while working, out for a walk, and in the car, loving it in all its glory.


Bear McCreary's finest. Bringing his elemental music from Battlestar Galactica & The Walking Dead to combine Defiance :)


99ers rocks...sort of a relentless Alien Hilljacks bluegrass rebellion. My first buy off the album, and favorite - so far. Can't wait to see where & how it's incorporated into the game & show.
