Album Review

Arguably the greatest greatest-hits album of the '60s. A White-soul classic.

Great music but not all stereo

BEWARE...not all tracks are stereo like the original vinyl release. Where is iTunes quality control? I resent purchasing digital files that are not as quality as the original recordings. The music is five star but the lack of stereo is one star. Still have the vinyl...a genuine classic album. Looked forward to listening to this great album on my iPod after many many years and was seriously disappointed when I found that several tracks were MONO! Shame on iTunes.

"All I Really Need!"

.."I've Been Lonely Too Long!.." This New York area band started out playing the club circuit in Jersey, L.I. & N.Y.C.; patterning themselves after other Soul and R&B acts they saw & played with! They soon lost the "young schoolboy" outfits and the name "Young Rascals"; matured into better performers & songwriters and became "The Rascals!" {Both "Time and Peace" were forever changed by the heady era of the Late 1960's-Early '70's music & culture} Growing up from the saucy "Blue-Eyed Soul" of "Good Lovin" & "Come On Up" to the yearning for universal peace & unity of "A Beautiful Morning" & "How Can I Be Sure"; these "Rascals" were a powerful force on the AM Radio "Back in the Day!" ("Time Peace" offers you 14 good reasons + reminders to Dance & Think along with them!) Grimmbo.

Time Peace - Released One Song Too Soon...

This compilation lacks one song - "People Got To Be Free". Buy this album and then get the missing song from iTunes. The original release of this compilation pre-dated the release of "PGTBF".

Formed: 1964 in New York, NY

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '60s, '70s

The Rascals, along with the Righteous Brothers, Mitch Ryder, and precious few others, were the pinnacle of '60s blue-eyed soul. The Rascals' talents, however, would have to rate above their rivals, if for nothing else than the simple fact that they, unlike many other blue-eyed soulsters, penned much of their own material. They also proved more adept at changing with the fast-moving times, drawing much of their inspiration from British Invasion bands, psychedelic rock, gospel, and even a bit of jazz...
