Always impressive.

I first saw Lemuria when they played a small classroom in Athens, Ohio. They came back a couple years later, and "Get Better" was the album I needed to hear at that point in time.

"Pebble" followed-up with a solid album, and I can honestly say Lemuria is improving with each release.

"The Distance" feels like a complete cohesive album, and the lyrics strike emotional chords in the same way their other songs are relatable.

You won't be disappointed whether you're a long-time fan or someone taking a chance on a new album.

Sheena Ozzella and Alex Kerns had already known each other for several years (including a spell where they were a couple) before forming Lemuria during the fall of 2004 in Buffalo, New York. The two looked to bands like the Lemonheads, Superchunk, Jawbreaker, and Hüsker Dü for influence in crafting their own punky, melodic indie rock. With Ozzella on guitar, Kerns on drums, and Adam Vernick on bass -- all three shared vocal duties, though Ozzella took the lead on most songs -- Lemuria got busy recording...
