Burton strayed from his go-to composer Danny Elfman for Ed Wood and the gamble paid off beautifully. Howard Shore's score is nostalgic, haunting, at times hilarious and unforgettable. The blend of theremin, organ, mambo beats and a traditional orchestra created the perfect partner for Burton's tribute to the sincerely terrible 1950s director. Listen while driving on a crisp Fall night with a full moon in the sky. Preferably en route to a drive in theater or a revival of a classic movie.
