Absolutely Incredible

This is the fourth single off of Maroon 5's album, It Won't Be Soon Before Long. This song was already great as the original, but adding Rihanna to it makes it amazing. This new version has a little bit more of electronic feel to it and winds up becoming a "battle of the sexes" between Rihanna and Adam Levine. The entire song is amazing and I expect it to equal the succes of Maroon 5's first single, Makes Me Wonder. This song is an absolute must-buy! I can't wait to see what the music video for this song looks like.

No thanks--

This song & album are amazing just as they are - without Rihanna - only Maroon 5. Adding anyone else to the mix is sinful. No thanks - Adam Levine's voice stands alone.

Rihanna's vocals make "If I Never See Your Face Again" sound fresh

R&B princess Rihanna makes a surprise appearance on Maroon 5’s latest offering, “If I Never See Your Face Again.” The collaboration is done in an effort to jump-start the band’s faltering album, ‘It Won't Be Soon Before Long,’ which was released last year. It will also appear on Rihanna’s re-release of ‘Good Girl Gone Bad,’ which will be out June 17. Although the album has sold 1.6 million copies, the band has not seen true chart success since lead single “Makes Me Wonder.” On “Face,” the band achieves its objective, as the song sounds more fresh than ever. Lead singer Adam Levine and Rihanna alternate on verses and come together for the chorus, as their polar opposite vocal styles actually mesh with the song’s retro sound. Although the only difference between the original arrangement and this new recording is the inclusion of Rihanna, “Face” sounds like a completely different song. To top it off, the lyrics fit her surprisingly well considering the track was never intended to be sung by a female. Radio will embrace “If I Never See Your Face Again” with open arms, as collaborations like these are few and far between. Maroon 5 and Rihanna will both get a creative (and commercial) boost from their efforts.

A mix of polished pop/rock and neo-soul made Maroon 5 one of the most popular bands of the new millennium, with songs like "This Love," "She Will Be Loved," and "Makes Me Wonder" all topping the charts worldwide. Previously, bandmates Adam Levine (vocals/guitar), Jesse Carmichael (keyboards), Mickey Madden (bass), and Ryan Dusick (drums) had spent the latter half of the '90s playing in Kara's Flowers, even releasing a debut album for Reprise Records while still attending high school. The record tanked,...
