Album Review

Though the glossy production may put off some of her old country-folk fans, Love Travels is a typically tasteful and compelling record from Kathy Mattea. While it is more uneven Walking Away A Winner, most of the record is first-rate, finding the perfect middle-ground between country-folk and mainstream contemporary country.

An awesome record by an artist who gets better each time out. Highly recommended.

Kathy's hidden gem

This album got very little exposure due to it's lack of main stream traditional country sound, but it's a unforgettable listen. The album is musically a cross between pop, alternative country, & pop. Some great songs worth checking out are 'Love Travels', 'Further & Further Away', (which Suzy Bogguss provides beautiful harmony vocals) '455 Rocket' (the lead single), 'The End of the Line' & 'Beautiful Fool'.
