iTunes Editors’ Notes

Britain’s Vaccines hit in a big way across the pond with their singles-laden debut, What Did You Expect From the Vaccines? Their brand of post-punk-rooted commercial rock fits in nicely with bands like the Strokes and Arctic Monkeys, though the Vaccines’ occasional foray into a big, fist-pumping guitar sound (“All In White,” “Post Break-Up Sex”), might put off some stalwart indie-rockers. But the Vaccines have enough scruffy edge and reverb to work their charms on fans of, say, No Age or Male Bonding, and those songs present the band at their best. Just listen to opener “Wreckin’ Bar (Ra Ra Ra),” a breakneck-paced, dizzyingly wonderful minute and a half of howling guitars and silly lyrics, or “Blow It Up,” a Jesus and Mary Chain-flavored tune full of corrosive, gritty guitar layers and atmospherics, yearning to be a pop song. “Wolf Pack” goes dangerously close into the “too big” category, but is saved with its insanely catchy chorus and cow-punk drum gallop, and “If You Wanna” has all the summertime bounce of Best Coast. Hopefully this young band will outlive the “big hit” backlash likely to come along, because they make darn good rock music.

THE BEST!

all i can say is ALL IN WHITE is the best out of all of them :D i love this band. im glad i found them by accident :)

Best CD Ever

I honestly cannot stop playing all of these songs. Every single one is amazing and i am so glad that I found these guys. If you have the money, buy this CD over anything else...you will be easily impressed with how awesome this is

Excellent!

I just saw Arctic Monkeys live in Denver and The Vaccines opened for them. I had never heard of them and wasn't expecting much, but I have to say that I almost enjoyed their performance more than Arctic. I went home and bought the album and it's one of the few albums that I've heard recently that I can just sit down and listen to all the way through... and then play it again. Usually I'll buy an album and listen to the whole thing and then pick out a few tracks that I enjoy, but with this album every single song is good-to-great and fun to listen to. These guys are going to be big. Plus they're nice!
