Perfect - In every way!

If there was a perfect smooth jazz album... Sahara is it. Native Sons, I'll Be Around, and Sahara are instant successes. Russ has an amazing talent for making his concoction of sound into a masterpiece of listening pleasure. Forever will these guys be considered among the Elite in their field.

Super Album!

This is one of those CD's that never gets old. My husband and I use to listen to it back in Michigan when we were boating home at sunset on Lake Michigan. Always perfect.

Rippingtons at their best

This album was put out back when the Rippingtons and Russ were at there best chemistry and composing-wise. Things tailed off in the late 90s and the band underwent a lot of turnover and never seemed to recapture this magic. "True Companion" may be one the best Ripps songs ever put out IMHO, showcasing Russ' incredible talent and capturing perfect "contemporary" jazz (NOT "smooth" Jazz, which is generally garbage). Well worth the money spent for this collection though there are some songs, particularly those later in the album, that pale in comparison with others. If you are a Ripps' fan, this should definitely be in your collection.

Kilimanjaro, the first Rippingtons album to break into the pop charts, followed in 1988. As of 1989's Tourist in Paradise,...
