Album Review

If it's originality you're looking for, look elsewhere. This debut from a quintet of Norwegian women sounds so much like the Bangles that the American group might want to consider a lawsuit. There's also a hint of ABBA and the Beatles in these tunes, most of which are about being young, in love, and a little wild. As you may guess from titles like "It's Up to You," "What Is Love," and "Gone with the Wind," the lyrics aren't a whole lot more original than the music. But while this may be formula rock, it's a very good formula — and the Tuesdays have got it down pat. There are shimmering harmonies, irresistible jangly guitar chords, hummable melodies, and hooks galore. There may be no new ground broken here, but the album is lots of fun anyway.

A good album to relax to

Many good songs... great way to spend a sunday relaxing..

This group sort of or even quite loudly reminds me of the Bangles or even a touch like another band with the same namesake ('Til Tuesday). Tracks 2 and 11 are great, but the whole album is quite decent. This pop group is refreshing- good for the beach or during road trips. Or just sitting on your deck sipping iced tea in the shade on a hot Summer afternoon-(Tuesday?). (I envision myself doing this when I hear music like this). Well, back to reality. Get this album. You will not be disappointed especially if you like the 80's or pop.

Love this album!

I was so a Tuesday girl in high school!

The group formed in 1990 as a high school cover band called No Limits in their hometown of Larvik, Norway. The group, which included guitarist Hege Solli, keyboardist Kristin Werner, and bassist May Hole, eventually changed their name to the Tuesday Girls and released their debut album, When You're a Tuesday Girl, in Norway and Japan in...
