iTunes Review

This album is Mastered for iTunes. The Great Escape Artist represents the awakening of a sleeping giant. Perry Farrell, Dave Navarro and Stephen Perkins are joined by TV on the Radio’s Dave Sitek, bassist Chris Chaney and producer Rich Costey (Muse, Radiohead) to record their first studio album since 2003 and bring Jane’s Addiction rock ’n’ roll circus into today. Farrell transfers his bank of knowledge forward on songs like “Irresistible Force” and “Curiosity Kills”. Costey and Sitek summon the hypnotic power of Navarro and Perkins on “Words Right Out of My Mouth”, “Underground” and “Twisted Tales”. The Great Escape Artist acknowledges the lessons learned, and positions the group for the future. The deluxe version of The Great Escape Artist comes with an 11-song live set recorded at Vive Latino.

The magic is gone

I am really a big fan of JA , have seen them in concert several times in the early 90's. This however is just sad. Perry's voice is gone and seems so is the magic. Really a shame cause a few songs here have great potential but just don't sound right. After listening to the live portion , man this is awful. I would love for JA to come back strong , but don't see that happening at all anymore. Live , Nothings Shocking and Ritual are on a whole different level than this album , I guess it was too much to live up to.

Great Comeback

This was a great comeback for Jane’s. Sure wish they’d put more tunes out man. This is one groovy, soaring record. Underground is an epic almost Radiohead like track. Lovin it man. If you dig these guys check out The Garden by These Raven Skies.

The great escape artist; Jane's Addiction

Excellent, one of their best albums ever!

Jane's Addiction were one of the most hotly pursued rock bands when they gained notice in Los Angeles in the mid-'80s, with record companies at their feet. Flamboyant frontman Perry Farrell, formerly of the band Psi Com, had an undeniable charisma and an interest in provocative art (he designed the band's album covers), and Jane's Addiction played a hybrid of rock music: metal with strains of punk, folk, and jazz. The quartet, comprised of Farrell, bassist Eric Avery, drummer Stephen Perkins, and...
