EDITORS’ NOTES

South Carolina's SUSTO give cosmic Americana a punch of punk attitude on their richly orchestrated sophomore album. Opening track "Far Out Feeling" goes from tranquil to trippy as soft psychedelic riffs get blasted by brass and swept up by cinematic strings. But frontman Justin Osborne quickly jumps back to reality, confronting sexual prejudice over lush alt-country ("Gay in the South"), tearing apart stereotypes in a cozy bed of harmonica and horns ("Cosmic Cowboy"), and taking on substance abuse with the mellow sounds of heartland rock (“Hard Drugs”).

So addictive and pleasing. Songs will get stuck in your head and you will find yourself singing one or more all day. Always a great one to play to put ya in a great mood.

Music for the soul...

Milwaukee'sBest,

SUSTO has a unique sound that grows on you. This album expands on the debut self-titled album. Best time to catch this train before it leaves the station to mainstream success...

About SUSTO

Named after a trauma-related syndrome associated with Central American cultures, SUSTO is an alternative country-rock band from Charleston, South Carolina whose influences stray into Americana. Featuring lead singer, songwriter, guitarist, and keyboardist Justin Osborne and a revolving lineup, the group's eponymous debut was released by Hearts & Plugs in 2014. A year later, they self-released Live from the Australian Country Music Hall of Fame. By the time the band did an Audiotree Live session in August 2016, the official lineup consisted of Osborne, guitarist/keyboardist/singers Johnny Delaware and Corey Campbell, bass player Jenna Desmond, and drummer Marshall Hudson. SUSTO's second studio album, & I'm Fine Today, arrived in early 2017 via Acid Boys/Missing Piece Records and landed on Billboard's independent and Heatseekers album charts. ~ Marcy Donelson
