10 Songs, 32 Minutes
EDITORS’ NOTES
Sam Smith’s star turn on Disclosure’s “Latch” only hinted at the British belter’s potential. In the Lonely Hour deftly blends classic soul, gospel choruses, and sumptuously recorded acoustic instruments with 21st-century production flourishes, like the hip-hop beat of "Life Support" and the subtle vocal processing of "Money on My Mind." An extended meditation on unrequited love, the album shows off Smith’s stunning emotive power, from his wounded wail on the mournful “Stay with Me” to his barely disguised bitterness on the dazzling “Like I Can.”

This album is borderline a drug for the soul. Please listen as this music takes over you
Beautiful soulful voice
I've never been so instantly moved by music as Sam Smith has done to me. His voice is so pure. His lyrics are so moving. I literally feel his songs in the pit of my stomach. This guy has a beautiful, soulful, amazing talent! I look forward to owning this album and playing it over and over again. Also planning to get the vinyl! That's how much I love it.
what music has been missing
one listen, and you cannot get the songs out of your head (in a good way). Not to mention, he has a voice of an angel. Sam Smith is a rare gem, you will not be disappointed!!
