iTunes Review

This album (released in conjunction with the book series The Story) attempts to interpret the Old and New Testaments in two CDs’ worth of songs and features the compositions of veteran singer/songwriters Nichole Nordeman and Bernie Herms as interpreted by such stellar Christian artists as Casting Crowns’ Mark Hall, MercyMe’s Bart Millard, Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, Chris Tomlin, Natalie Grant, and Steven Curtis Chapman. The music has a sweeping, cinematic feel, with forays into guitar-fueled rock (“No Compromise,” sung by Peter Furler) and twang-filled country (“Move in Me,” performed by Jeremy Camp) adding balance to this ballad-oriented set. Each track works to advance the dramatic narrative flow from the first moments of creation to Christ’s second coming. Standouts include Matthew West and Leigh Nash’s wide-eyed duet as Adam and Eve in “Good,” Todd Smith’s heroic interpretation of Job in “Broken Praise,” Francesca Barttistelli’s tender portrayal of Mary in “Be Born in Me,” and Mac Powell’s commanding embodiment of Jesus’ message in “When Love Sees You.”

I love this and saw this in concert at pittsburgh pa…wonderful

Beautiful Songs

All of these songs were remarkable! The Bible tells the stories of these people so matter-of-factly: this happened, and then this happened, and then this happened, etc. But listening to these songs reminded me that the characters in the Bible, whether they existed or not, were human beings and would have felt as I would. These songs get to the heart of the matter of each story. Thank you for all who made this album possible! <3

Amazing Album

I think this album is pretty much one of the best albums I've ever listened to. It really puts the characters of the Bible into a great musical story! :)

Also if you every get the chance, go and see the concert for this album. It is the most amazing concert you'll ever see!! I went and saw it a couple years ago, and I left thinking to myself that the concert was worth so much more than what we paid.
