iTunes Review

Recorded live at the Church of the Highlands in Birmingham, Ala., in September 2012, In Jesus’ Name surveys the high points in Darlene Zschech’s 20-year career as an trendsetting Christian singer, songwriter, and worship leader. Passionate renditions of “Worthy Is the Lamb,” “The Potter’s Hand,” and “Shout to the Lord” (her most famous composition) reaffirm their spiritual power. “God Is Here” and the title tune are praise-filled rock anthems, while “Jesus Lover of My Soul” leans toward elegant gospel/R&B. “My Highest Hope”—a stirring ballad written during Zschech’s recent battle with cancer—is a special highlight.
