Customer Reviews

I honestly don't know what to say about this band, but feel like I should be saying so much. I accidentally stumbled onto this cd, and boy am I glad I did. While going through the recently added section on iTunes, I meant to click Flobots and got this album instead. The album artwork looked interesting (thought it was going to be some new emo band or what not) so I decided to sample In The Fall. At first, after sampling the album, I really didnt know how I felt about these guys. Meh, it was okay. So, I went back to the new Flobots album, bought it, and continued reading the days news on the web. I swear not even 5 mins passed before I just had to come back and listen to more. The music is catchy, without feeling fake, and the lead singer (I have yet to look up anything on them) does an uncanny job of blending in with the music. He's amazing. He sings with his heart on his sleeve, and appears to put everything he has into every word that comes from his mouth. Just breath taking.

Sorry for the long review, but like I said...I really don't know what to say. Ive gone on to buy even more of their music, and continue to be impressed. None of it sounds the same. None of it! Buy it while it's cheap, and be on the look out for more material. And, if the guys from Future Islands ever read this, I'd like to say keep at it, and good luck. You are really special.

Emotion Explosion

Yes Yes Yes! Future Islands is back with new awesomeness!! If you like old Future Islands - buy this, if you've never heard of Future Islands - buy this, and if you ever get a chance to see them live don't pass it up! When he sings, its like his face is about to explode with emotion...also in general they put on seriously one of the most enjoyable dance-y shows I've ever seen! Counting down the days till Saturday when they're in Chapel Hill!

They're such a unique band. Nothing like you hear today. They're like modern 80's but better.

Led by crooning frontman Samuel T. Herring, the members of Future Islands started out making electro-pop music together in 2003 while attending East Carolina University's art program. Along with Herring, the initial members of the group were Adam Beeby, William Cashion, J. Gerrit Welmers, and Kymia Nawabi, and they played shows around campus as Art Lord & the Self-Portraits. In 2006, after the band split, Herring, Cashion, and Welmers continued under the name Future Islands and picked up the Kickass...
