All Hip Hop Styles Summed Up

It's been said time and time again. Royce Da 5'9" is the perfection of MCing, if you listen to his flow, his style, his delivery, there's nobody else out there trying to do it the way he does. Lyrics are crazy, yess, but unlike a lot of rappers out there today, Royce isn't Pigeon-holing himself in there by relying purely on the written lyrics themselves. No one has a better delivery, more subtle flows and style changes that this rap chameleon. As for why he stopped working with Shady and never went Mainstream, read into the D12 VS. Royce Da 5'9" beef. And just so you know, Royce won the battle both in terms of the raw number of diss tracks released and the quality of disses. Peep the song Malcom X to skip to the end, the finishing blow, where D12 decided they don't want Beef no more and Royce didn't have to make good on his threat of hitting them with a song a day (he has enough unreleased diss tracks to fill up an album). And Eminem? He never got lyrically involved in the battle. They say it's because he felt torn by peoples fighting with eachother, but most speculate it's because of Royce's public threat to sign to Murder INC and do a song with Ray Benzino, when the Ja Rule and Benzino Beefs were really starting to cook up. Probably would have gotten Royce a 5 Mics rating on his next album if a truce hadn't been called.

Too Talented For Words..

I've been listening to Royce for 6-7 years and I haven't backed away since. People aren't big into him because he isn't rolling with any of these commerical heads or the big producers. Still though, this is some of the reason why he music is so great. Not saying that the beats aren't good, but he can take any beat (simple or complex) and make it into a hot joint. His metaphors and similes are very deep, I sometimes come back and listen to old tracks and find myself finally understand what he is saying. This is the first album he put out under his label "Make It Count (MIC) Records." This isn't my favorite CD of the three (Death is Certain being #1), but it is definately a listen to if you are sick of what the rap game is putting out now. You can only eat disgusting food so much before you have to pull away from the table..

better than awesome
