fantastic and fresh!

For fans of folk and just plain excellent music, the Last Bison is for you. They are very passionate about their art and their band, and it shows. It's pop-folk like mumford, and incorporates incredible orchestra elements like sufjan but the Last Bison is their own sound entirely. Can't wait for their full-length. Catch 'em live too. They put on an awesome show!

Still amazing.....

I have seen The Last Bison (when they were Bison) quite a few times. Simply one of the most talented groups of people I have seen in a long time. This EP doesn't hold a candle to Quill. I listen to that CD on repeat for days on end and can't get enough. Having said that, if you can get your hands on a copy of Quill, do it!!! The songs on here are still great, but to me it is missing that "Bison" sound. Either way, I love this band and will continue to support them in all of their endeavors. :-)

Shined Up Folk

I'll admit being a little weary that this band would lose their charming, humble, raw talent being signed to a label. This EP both confirms and reassures. The band has a cleaner, more refined sound that I neither despise nor adore. It's a little less folk, than the previous Quill album which is noticeable in both the annunciation of words and in the crisper more intentional instruments. I will embrace this change (not as improvement) but as growth, and as an opportunity for their music to be more accessible to people everywhere.

Formed in 2010 around the talents of siblings Benjamin and Annah Hardesty, their associate pastor father Dan Hardesty, brothers Andrew and Jay Benfante, Amos Housworth, and Teresa Totheroh, the Last Bison were originally brought...
