iTunes Review

Most people know Rowan Atkinson from TV’s Mr. Bean. But the title character’s broad, slapstick style is worlds apart from the performances heard here. This isn’t a stand-up act, but rather a collection of set pieces, complete with musical intros and guests. Atkinson brings a droll British comedic style to bits about the Devil giving an orientation speech to newcomers in hell and a colleague advising Shakespeare to rewrite Hamlet, and even to a hilarious interview with Elton John, who sportingly appears as himself.

Greatest Comedian Alive

Definitely the greatest comedy show I've ever heard. 'The Wedding' and 'Sir Marcus Browning' are just hilarious.

Superb

A superb British comedian. Unsurpassed wit from a Not the Nine Oclock News writer. One of the English Languages great comedic performers, none of his work is t be missed but this is an highlight.

the drawbacks of audio

I love Rowan Atkinson in everything he does from Bean to Black Adder...but unfortunately this recording does not do him justice. Half of Atkinson's charm is in his physical delivery and facial expressions and without them, though he is still funny, the comedy just isn't as effective. I would recommend this with that warning.
