Top notch contemporary jazz and more

For lovers of contemporary jazz, Detroit based Guitarist Tim Bowman has a reputation for having elite skills on his instrument. "Into The Blue" is another in a long line of superior releases from Mr. Bowman, and features inspired and brilliant playing, expertly crafted songs, and the highest quality production. With three #1 charted singles to his credit (“Summer Groove,” “Sweet Sundays,” and the 2013 Billboard Smooth Jazz #1, “Seaside Drive”), Tim has a serious track record of delivering hit music to radio and his fans. Song highlights on this set include “City Lights” and “Boss," the vibrant and joyous “Amazing Grace Party” featuring some great keys playing by Demetrius Nabors and brilliant Guitar by Jonathan DuBose Jr., as well as tasty vocal contributions by Grammy nominated Gospel artist, Tim Bowman Jr. Other noteworthy songs on the album are “Tan Hermosa (So Beautiful)” which has a gorgeous melody and features Tim on nylon string guitar. And last but not least, the ultra commercial potential Urban AC vocal hit on the album is “All I Need Is Love” featuring impressive vocals by Stokely (formerly of Mint Condition, and a major solo artist in his own right.) Tim has delivered another musical feast with “Into The Blue,” and I consider it one of the best releases of the year in contemporary jazz. There’s no filler on this album, just one song after another of top notch music, played by an anointed artist with significant gifts as a player and composer. I highly recommend this project to lovers of quality music, no matter what genres they normally listen to.
